For anyone that likes to read a good book, there is something ingrained from a childhood of the feeling of cracking the fresh spine and as you fold back the cover the unforgettable smell of the freshly printed pages. Instantly the book feels and belongs to you the reader, you hold and cherish this finely crafted piece of literature and marvel at the typesetting and illustration as you turn the pages.

Over the last 17 years, we have been fortunate to help our clients on several book design assignments, from exercises in corporate branding where the objective is to celebrate the centenary of an organisation to the charitable work we carry out within our Giving Back initiatives.

We follow a full-service approach to help our clients, firstly there is the planning stage where the overall objective for the book is discussed and the list of services our agency offers are considered, these would commonly include; copywriting, translation, graphic design, photography and printing services. We will bring the clients vision for their book to life by typesetting in a professional and eligible format and where appropriate create custom infographics to engage the reader in key pieces of information.

Our creative copywriting partners will be crafting beautiful copy that will explain the narrative and if that narrative like in most cases in Asia needs to be told within multiple languages then our copywriters will be equally engaged to make sure there is a consistent message and tone throughout the book design.

The photography of the book is usually the final and most important visual ingredient when creating a stunning and book design. We will always push the importance of creative, consistent photography to all our clients and can showcase several partners across a wide range of photographic genres who will excel in capturing the client’s story. 

Finally, we have a very hands-on relationship with many printing services in Hong Kong and China that specialise in a wide variety of print techniques. And well I have left the best part to last, we are self-confessed print geeks! A dying art in the graphic design industry, however, there is nothing more that we like better than having our heads in books of paper samples, feeling the different weights and textures and having deep and complex discussions with printers on how to create memorable finishes from their vast array of traditional and modern machinery.
